SERVICES
In addition to the Art Appraisal Report, Zbirka can help with specific questions: where to sell, how to approach an auction, how to arrange transport, what to check before buying, or what next steps may be appropriate regarding authenticity and provenance.
Every situation is different. Some artworks are best advertised locally, some offered to an auction house, some require further checks first, and others call for care with transport, export or documentation. Additional services are therefore provided on inquiry, after a brief review of the case.
ADVISORY SERVICES
01
Advice on where and how to offer an artwork: private sale, classified listings, galleries, auction houses, collectors or another option. The aim is to avoid too low a price, the wrong sales channel or unnecessary loss of time.
02
Help with understanding the auction process, choosing a suitable auction house, preparing an Inquiry, reading sale terms, assessing costs, commissions and realistic expectations.
03
Advisory on buying art: monitoring auctions and offers, commenting on price and condition, identifying risks and helping with a decision before purchase.
04
Preliminary comments on visible signatures, marks, labels, documentation and ownership history. This is not confirmation of authenticity, but an initial review and recommendation for next steps if specialist expertise is needed.
05
Advice on the safe transport of an artwork: packing, selecting a suitable carrier, basic risks, insurance and practical steps when sending a work within Croatia or abroad.
06
General guidance on what to check before taking or exporting an Artwork abroad, including possible permits, documentation and contacts for competent bodies or specialists. Zbirka does not issue permits or provide legal opinions.
07
A second opinion if you have received an offer to buy an artwork, a proposed price or sale terms. The aim is to understand whether the offer is reasonable and what alternatives exist.
08
For owners with several artworks or a small family collection. A basic review, prioritisation and recommendation of what to research, appraise or offer for sale first may be possible.
PROCESS
Send a brief description of the situation
Add photographs or available information
I review whether I can realistically help
If I can, I send a proposal for next steps and an indicative offer
Not every Inquiry is charged. If I assess that Zbirka cannot usefully help in your case, I will say so clearly and without obligation.
Research library
Use the research library to prepare useful photographs, record what you know and understand the limits of a preliminary online opinion.
A measured first look at materials, technique, labels, frames, subject and provenance.
Why artist, attribution, condition, ownership history and market context all affect value.
Practical steps to preserve evidence, record what you have and avoid premature decisions.
INQUIRY
Describe the situation as clearly as you can. After review, I will respond with an answer or a proposal for next steps.
Note: Zbirka's additional services are advisory and informative in nature. Zbirka does not issue official appraisals, confirm authenticity, issue export permits or provide legal opinions, and does not replace the work of authorised experts, conservators, expert witnesses, lawyers or competent institutions.
This is a preliminary, informative Market Value opinion prepared from the photographs and information supplied by the client. It is not an official appraisal, expert witness report, confirmation of authenticity, tax or insurance valuation, or a guarantee of a sale price.
